Restaurants on the Lake Reopen: News for the Season
With the arrival of spring, the terraces on the lake come back to life. New menus, new chefs, and some brand new openings: everything you need to know about the 2026 gastronomic season.
The scent of spring on Lake Maggiore also brings with it the smell of kitchens starting back up after the winter break. This year, the reopenings bring several new features that deserve attention.
New Seasonal Menus
Many restaurants have taken advantage of the winter closure to renew their gastronomic offerings. The trend is to further enhance local products: lake fish, local aromatic herbs, and cheeses from the valleys.
A New Opening to Note
Starting in May, a new venue will open on the lakefront that promises to be a talking point: a combination of cocktail bar and fish cuisine with a panoramic terrace. The chef, coming from a Michelin-starred restaurant in Milan, has chosen Luino for his first independent project.
Classics That Never Disappoint
Among the must-rediscovers are the historic trattorias in the center, where lake cuisine in its most authentic form resists fashion. Perch risotto and grilled coregone remain essential.
RadioLuino will dedicate a special episode of the “Serata Luino” program to discovering the flavors of the territory. See you next Friday at 7 PM.
