Luino Inaugurates the New Lakeside: Interview with the Mayor
After two years of work, Luino's lakeside has been completely renovated. New green spaces, a cycle path, and an outdoor event area. We spoke with the mayor.
After almost two years of construction, Luino’s lakeside has finally reopened to the public in its new guise. The official inauguration was held last Saturday in the presence of local authorities and hundreds of citizens.
A Project Awaited for Years
The redevelopment works involved a stretch of about 1.2 kilometers, transforming what was an outdated walk into a real attraction for residents and tourists.
Among the main innovations: a new cycle path separated from the pedestrian path, new benches and LED lighting, a children’s play area, and a permanent stage for outdoor events.
Words from the Mayor
“This intervention was long overdue,” declared the mayor during the inaugural ceremony. “We have invested significant resources because we believe that the lake is the heart of our community and must be valued at its best.”

The inaugural stage will host the first concert of the summer season next weekend, organized in collaboration with RadioLuino.
