Spring has arrived, and with it the desire to go out and breathe fresh air among the woods and valleys surrounding Luino. We have selected five trails for all levels, from those suitable for families with children to more demanding routes for mountain enthusiasts.
1. The Lake Trail (easy, 2h)
A panoramic loop with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Passable in every season, it is a favorite for families thanks to the minimum elevation gain and numerous resting points with benches.
2. The Chestnut Way (medium difficulty, 3h30)
Crosses ancient chestnut groves and small abandoned villages. In autumn the vegetation is spectacular, but even in spring it offers unique scenery with the blooming of rhododendrons.
3. Cima del Sasso (demanding, 5h)
For more trained hikers. The summit at 1,400 meters offers, on a clear day, a view that stretches as far as the Swiss Alps. Recommended only from April to October.
4. The Waterfall Trail (easy, 1h30)
A short but spectacular route that runs alongside a stream with several waterfalls. Also ideal for small children.
5. The Verbano High Way (expert, 2 days)
For the most adventurous: a 30 km route that crosses the ridge above the lake, with the possibility of staying overnight in a refuge.
